Intermediate students accepted into Carnegie Honour Band series

We are so proud of our awesome musicians. Michael Husu and Connor Turk were accepted into the prestigious Carnegie Honour Band Performance Series. They will have the opportunity to travel to New York City for a week of master classes, ending with a concert at Carnegie Hall. Congratulations gentlemen!


Grade 7 Student wins Kiwanis Music Competition in trombone

Congratulations to our amazing Gr. 7 musician, Marissa for winning her Kiwanis Music Competition class in trombone. We are so proud of you!  



Newton's Grove Flutist Shines at Kiwanis Music Competition

The Music Department and the rest of the school would like to congratulate Emily Yeung for winning all three of her Grade 10 level classes at the Kiwanis Music Festival this week. Emily played a concerto by CPE Bach, a piece by Gaubert, and Vasks," Landscapes With Birds".  For achieving marks all above 90 in this tough competition, Emily is now a Platinum winner.

Congratulations to our senior student, Emily. She won all three classes of her Kiwanis flute competition. Bravo, Emily. We are extremely proud of you!


"Spellbound" was a huge hit!

Congratulations to the talented cast and crew of "Spellbound". The performance was highly entertaining. Thank you to all of the students and staff that were involved. A very special thank you to Ms. Hewitt and Mr. Alonso. Well done, everyone!

Intermediate and Senior Production of Spellbound is next week!

It takes a lot of talent to put on a production. While the actors and musicians are busy preparing for next week's performance of Spellbound, our Visual Arts students are busy creating the set and back drop. 



Grade 9 Student invited to participate in Carnegie Hall's Honour Band

 

We wish our grade 9 student, Justin, all the best as he travels to New York City tomorrow. Justin was invited to participate in the prestigious Carnegie Hall Honour Band. Safe travels. We are very proud of you and look forward to hearing about your exciting adventure! 


Newton's Grove Musicians selected to join Ontario Honour Band

We are so proud of our 9 amazing musicians who will be heading up to Jackson's Point today to begin rehearsals for the Ontario Provincial Honour Band. This band selects 50 of Ontario's best High School musicians, and Newton's Grove is happy to be sending 9! Good luck to all of you! You have made us all so proud!



After School Music Lessons

We are proud to announce that we will continue to offer music lessons and classes after school in our new building. The school’s new facility includes a new state of the art music room, individual practice rooms, and group learning spaces.  Private and Group music lessons are available for a number of instruments. Newton's Grove Musicians make it to Carnegie Hall!

Newton's Grove's Signature Music Program is developing musicians that perform at the top of their respective categories. We work to ensure that every student is provided with the support they need to achieve their personal best. 

We are so proud of Claudio, Michael, and Connor. Claudio and Michael were accepted into the prestigious Carnegie Honor Performance Series Honour Band in New York City! Connor has been selected as first runner up. Gentlemen, your talent is staggering, and you have made the entire Newton’s Grove community so proud! Bravo!
