WINGS Takes Flight!

Our newly named charity association WINGS (“We Inspire, Newton’s Grove School”) has kicked off the year with our annual Michele Temple Fundraiser on Friday October 11, 2013. The event is held annually to raise money for the Michele Temple Melanoma Cancer Research Fund at the Princess Margaret Hospital. After an amazing day of activities from JK to Grade 12, we are very excited to announce that the event raised $4566.35! A big thank you to our school community and all the members of WINGS who worked so hard to make the day a great success.

Together, we will find a cure for cancer in our lifetime.

Grade 5 ROM Trip

The Grade 5 class took an exciting trip back in time to ancient Egypt, while visiting the Royal Ontario Museum on October 10th, 2013. They had the rare opportunity to handle some artifacts from the ROM's collection that were more than 2000 years old!! They also had a guided tour from a museum expert who introduced them to the ROM's two mummies! They were amused to find out that one of the mummies took her own field trip to Sick Kids Hospital to receive X-rays and a CAT scan so archeologists could find out information about her!
