An Awe-Inspiring Athletics Centre

NewtonsGrove_Oct21_00876

At Newton's Grove, sports and athletics are key parts to our holistic approach to education —and the benefits run far beyond physical activity. Athletics can boost self-esteem, reduce pressure and stress, and motivate children to excel academically. Participation in Athletics also helps students develop essential life skills such as teamwork, goal-setting, discipline, tenacity, problem-solving, and good sportsmanship, along with a lifelong commitment to healthy, active living.

Our incredible Athletic Centre allows us to challenge our students as rigorously on the court as we do in the classroom.

The state-of-the-art complex boasts 32,000 square feet of outstanding equipment and training facilities that are unlike anywhere else, including:

  • Large, double gym
  • Regulation size sports courts
  • Atrium level running track that circles the gymnasium on the second floor
  • Student lounge
  • Fitness/dance studio
  • Weight training room
  • 8 large activity rooms and classrooms
  • Washrooms and locker rooms

In a space like this, all students have the opportunity to participate, challenge themselves, and incorporate fitness into their daily lives.

Students come first at Newton's Grove

Newton's Grove is a student-focused private school for children from JK through Grade 12. Surrounded by abundant green space, our growing state-of-the-art facility is bright, modern, and designed to stimulate and support every aspect of a student's development.

Our inquiry-based approach to learning exceeds Ministry of Education standards, and engages and inspires students to think critically, collaboratively and creatively at every stage of their unique journey toward success. Dynamic, well-rounded programming in academics, athletics, music and the arts ensures our students realize their full potential—academically, socially and physically—and develop into whole individuals.

With small class sizes and a  small student population, each student receives personal attention, guidance and encouragement. Well before their final year, Newton's Grove students are prepared and positioned to succeed in their post-secondary school of choice and beyond.

A brilliant balance of academics and arts

Arts programming at Newton's Grove includes music, visual and dramatic arts, and sparks self-expression and exploration while encouraging students to look at the world in new ways. Students will find themselves taking artistic risks, building confidence through collaborative efforts and helping to create annual productions.

Our renowned signature music program inspires an early love of music and encourages disciplined practice and mastery of an instrument. Newton's Grove students have successfully auditioned and been selected for the Provincial Honour Band, National Youth Band of Canada, and showcased at Carnegie Hall.

Helping our students grow for over 40 years

On our 40th anniversary, we moved into our new home at 6850 Goreway Drive. The entire facility—from fully-equipped science and computer rooms, to visual and dramatic arts rooms, the Learning Commons, and the music room and studio—has been thoughtfully designed to maximize the daily opportunities a student has to learn, strive, and grow.

A custom-built, expansive Athletic Centre with exceptional facilities, is another key highlight of the new Newton's Grove. This state-of-the-art 32,000 square foot space includes a double gym with an atrium-level running track and regulation size sports courts, a fitness/dance studio, weight training room, 8 large activity rooms and classrooms, student lounge, as well as washrooms and locker rooms. Building on our commitment to developing well-rounded students, the  complex offers elite training and athletic programming, as well as exceptional opportunities for physical education.
