Keeping Our Community Connected and Learning
Welcome Back to In-School Learning Starting September 8th 2020
With uncertainty surrounding return to school for many, Newton’s Grove School is ahead of the curve. We are currently providing our rewarding full day student-focused experience five days a week for elementary, middle and senior students. Our High School students are participating in full year courses that promote strong learning over time assisting students to achieve a high degree of mastery and keep their knowledge and skills strong throughout the year. Our proven success with our summer camp and starting up this year demonstrates we have the experience and expertise required to safely deliver our full educational program.
Some of the key elements that we have employed to achieve a great start to the school year include getting the most out of our state-of-the-art ventilation system that provides continuous air circulation and the regular introduction of outside air into all areas of the school. We are utilizing our small population and small classes of 18 or fewer to keep everyone safe. Several other essential measures to promote safety include:
Our planning is also ensuring that every student learns. If a student is not able to attend in person, we are fully supporting remote learning through Zoom, Edsby and other leading-edge technologies. Every member of Newtons Grove is working together to enable each child to be safe, inspired and successful in their learning.
Newton's Grove is a student-focused private school for children from JK through Grade 12. Surrounded by abundant green space, our growing state-of-the-art facility is bright, modern, and designed to stimulate and support every aspect of a student's development.
Our inquiry-based approach to learning exceeds Ministry of Education standards, and engages and inspires students to think critically, collaboratively and creatively at every stage of their unique journey toward success. Dynamic, well-rounded programming in academics, athletics, music and the arts ensures our students realize their full potential—academically, socially and physically—and develop into whole individuals.
With small class sizes and a small student population, each student receives personal attention, guidance and encouragement. Well before their final year, Newton's Grove students are prepared and positioned to succeed in their post-secondary school of choice and beyond.
Arts programming at Newton's Grove includes music, visual and dramatic arts, and sparks self-expression and exploration while encouraging students to look at the world in new ways. Students will find themselves taking artistic risks, building confidence through collaborative efforts and helping to create annual productions.
Our renowned signature music program inspires an early love of music and encourages disciplined practice and mastery of an instrument. Newton's Grove students have successfully auditioned and been selected for the Provincial Honour Band, National Youth Band of Canada, and showcased at Carnegie Hall.
On our 40th anniversary, we moved into our new home at 6850 Goreway Drive. The entire facility—from fully-equipped science and computer rooms, to visual and dramatic arts rooms, the Learning Commons, and the music room and studio—has been thoughtfully designed to maximize the daily opportunities a student has to learn, strive, and grow.
A custom-built Athletics Centre, which is currently underway, is another key highlight of the new Newton's Grove. Building on our commitment to developing well-rounded students, the state-of-the-art complex will offer elite training and athletic programming, as well as exceptional opportunities for physical education.
