An Evening of Music, Performance, and Celebration at Music Night Academics, Arts, Events, Music Lessons Earlier this month, the Newton’s Grove community gathered at the Islington Evangel Centre for one of the most anticipated evenings of the year – Music Night – a celebration of the talent, creativity, and dedication of our student performers. The evening highlighted not only musical excellence, but also the confidence, collaboration, and passion that make the arts such an important part of life at Newton’s Grove. One of the most meaningful moments of the night was the presentation of the Graydon Foster Award to Japman Rangi. The Graydon Foster Award recognizes a student who embodies the spirit of the arts community at Newton’s Grove. The recipient must be involved in both music and drama and demonstrate qualities that go far beyond performance alone. This award honours a student who uplifts others, connects with people of all ages, contributes selflessly to school life, and inspires those around them through kindness, passion, and character. Japman’s commitment to the arts, positive energy, and ability to support and encourage others made him an incredibly deserving recipient of this year’s award. His passion for music and drama is evident not only in his performances, but in the way he contributes to the wider school community every day. The evening was a tremendous success and a wonderful reflection of the talent and spirit within the Newton’s Grove music program. Congratulations to all of our student performers, musicians, staff, and families who helped make Music Night such a memorable event.
