A Festive Day of Community, Celebration, and Reading

December 12 was a day filled with holiday cheer and meaningful moments at Newton’s Grove, as students and staff came together for two much-loved school traditions that celebrate both community spirit and a love of learning.

Throughout the day, Santa made his annual visit to campus for our Pictures with Santa fundraiser, organized by the Prom Committee. Students stopped by to take photos, share a laugh, and capture festive memories, all while supporting a student-led initiative that helps make prom a memorable milestone for our senior class. What may seem like a simple photo opportunity once again became something much bigger — a reflection of generosity, togetherness, and school pride during the holiday season.

At the same time, excitement filled the space as the Scholastic Book Fair welcomed students from all grades. Tables were lined with colourful covers and exciting titles, inviting students to browse, discover new stories, and choose books that sparked their curiosity. Conversations about favourite genres and next reads echoed throughout the fair as students proudly selected books to take home.

Together, these events highlighted what makes the Newton’s Grove community so special — a shared commitment to connection, student leadership, and a lifelong love of reading. Thank you to our Prom Committee, staff, and volunteers who helped make the day such a success. It was a pleasure to see our students so engaged, joyful, and inspired.
