A Milestone Moment: NGS Students at Carnegie Hall

We are incredibly proud to share that four of our high school musicians – Jaymes, Salma, Harleen, and Sfiyah – were selected for the prestigious Carnegie Hall Honours Performance Series. This is a remarkable achievement earned through a highly competitive international audition process. Students are chosen from across the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia, making this one of the most distinguished opportunities available to young musicians.

Two of our students, Jaymes and Salma, have just returned from New York City, where they performed with an international ensemble in the legendary Carnegie Hall. Salma, our clarinetist, was selected as Principal Clarinet out of all participating clarinetists and performed multiple solo passages with the orchestra – an exceptional honour that speaks to her outstanding talent and leadership.

Our two remaining high school students will travel later this year, and we look forward to celebrating their experiences as well.

Allissya (oboe) will take the stage this June, and Kismet Dhuga has been selected to perform in London, England – another incredible global achievement for NGS. This is an extraordinary accomplishment at such a young age. Several additional Middle School students are currently awaiting results, and we are hopeful to have more exciting news to share soon.

We could not be prouder of these musicians for representing our school on one of the world’s most iconic stages and for demonstrating what dedication, courage, and a deep love of music can achieve.
