Bird Feeders Citizenship The environmental committee collected common materials that would go to waste like plastic water bottles, egg cartons, and spoons, and had the junior division help us to upcycle them by giving them a new purpose: making bird feeders. This activity was perfect for the winter season as it is nesting season for birds and though many migrate, many also stay put and food is harder to find at this time of year. A few classes in grades 4-6 helped the environmental committee make bird feeders out of plastic water bottles and egg cartons to promote creativity and eco-friendliness at the same time!
