Celebrating World Youth Skills Day

Students receiving academic awards

Every year on July 15th, we think World Youth Skills Day deserves a special commemoration. After all, this is a day dedicated to recognizing the importance of equipping young people with skills for employment and entrepreneurship and here at Newton’s Grove School, we are proud to be part of this global movement that empowers youth and prepares them for a successful future.

The Importance of World Youth Skills Day

World Youth Skills Day, established by the United Nations, underscores the critical role that skills and education play in today’s rapidly evolving job market. As technology advances and industries transform, the need for a wide range of skills – and skilled thinkers and leaders – grows. This day highlights the necessity for continuous learning and skill development to keep pace with these changes.

How Newton’s Grove School Supports Skill Development

At Newton’s Grove School, we believe in providing our students with the very best opportunities to develop a diverse set of skills. From academic excellence to practical hands-on experiences such as our Global Learning program, we strive to create a well-rounded education that prepares our students for the future.

Here just a few ways that we support skill development at Newton’s Grove School:

  • Superior Academic Programming: By setting high standards and maintaining small classes, we can individualize our approach and provide the enrichment and support students need to continue to achieve their very best. Our holistic approach focuses on all aspects of a student’s development, the academic, the physical and the social, with an emphasis on positive attitudes, self-discipline, accountability, and personal responsibility.
  • Our AP Programming: As a university preparatory school, we enable each graduate to achieve admission to their post-secondary programs. We also ensure they are well prepared to achieve at a high level in the next step of their educational journey. We employ the Advanced Placement program, mediated by the College Board, to provide every student with the opportunity to complete university-level work in high school and be well prepared for a seamless transition to university. Many students earn university course credits and enroll directly in courses beyond the first year. Universities actively seek students who participate in AP courses because they are well-equipped to thrive in their first year of university and beyond.
  • Student Leadership Program: Newton’s Grove School is proud to run a Prefect Leadership program that enables our Middle School and Senior School students to demonstrate – and further develop – such leadership qualities as confidence, initiative, problem solving skills, trust-worthiness, time-management, respect, and responsibility.
  • Global Learning Program: Here at Newton’s Grove we wholeheartedly believe that experiences outside of the classroom drive higher student engagement, peak intellectual curiosity and student interests in and out of the school environment. Learning takes place in many different environments through various experiences, and so we are proud to deliver field trips as great learning opportunities, as well as annual international trips for our senior students.

This year we were so thrilled to facilitate a global student experience to several cities in Italy. What an unforgettable learning experience for our students!

Kudos to our Newton’s Grove Students and Community

On World Youth Skills Day, we celebrate the extraordinary achievements of our students and the efforts of our educators. We also recognize the invaluable importance of the support from our entire Newton’s Grove community in helping our youth succeed.

We know all too well the collaborative effort it takes to continue to maintain our over 45-year legacy of 100% university acceptance to some of the world’s top tier universities.

And for that, we thank you all!

Happy World Youth Skills Day!
