In an exhilarating display of skill and teamwork, the team clinched the bronze medal at the World Women’s Under-18 Hockey Championship with a resounding 8-1 victory over Finland.

Mackenzie Alexander, a shining star from Newton’s Grove, made her mark by scoring a crucial goal, adding to the team’s impressive tally. Maxine Cimoroni also contributed to the scoreline, demonstrating the collective strength and determination of the Canadian squad.

Chloe Primerano was a standout performer, scoring twice and providing an assist, showcasing the depth of talent in the Canadian team. Her efforts not only contributed to the win but also led her to set a new single-tournament points record for a defender, highlighting the exceptional level of play at the tournament.

The team’s head coach, Tara Watchorn, commended the team’s ability to bounce back after the semifinal loss, highlighting their determination and pride in representing their country. “We did an amazing job of that today,” she remarked. The bronze medal this year is a testament to the team’s unwavering spirit and skill, as noted by Stonehouse, who praised the team’s character and resilience in facing adversity.
