Newton’s Grove School Presents a Timeless Holiday Classic: A Christmas Carol

On December 4, Newton’s Grove School’s Senior School students stepped into the spotlight with their highly anticipated production of A Christmas Carol, bringing Charles Dickens’ beloved tale of reflection, redemption, and generosity to the stage. Months of preparation, collaboration, and heartfelt dedication culminated in a moving performance that captured the spirit of the season.

The classic story follows the journey of Ebenezer Scrooge as he is confronted by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future—each offering powerful lessons about compassion, community, and the importance of opening one’s heart. Under the guidance of the school’s arts faculty, students explored the emotional depth of Dickens’ work and brought its timeless message to life with impressive maturity and artistry.

“Our students poured their hearts into this production,” said Michelle Hewitt, Arts Coordinator. “Their commitment to storytelling, teamwork, and creative expression truly reflects the values we strive to instill: courage, curiosity, and a belief in making a positive impact.”

The performance showcased not only the strength of our performing arts program but also the power of student-led creativity. From set design and costumes to lighting, staging, and character development, students embraced every aspect of the theatrical process.

As families, friends, and staff filled the audience, the production served as a reminder of the enduring themes of Dickens’ work: the importance of generosity, empathy, and embracing the joy that comes from connecting with others.
