The World Is The Classroom: Global Learning at Newton’s Grove

As we look ahead to a new school year at Newton’s Grove, there’s already big things on the horizon: the launch of our 2025–2026 Global Learning Program.

These are more than just field trips. They’re immersive, curriculum-connected experiences designed to help students apply their learning in real-world environments—across the province, across the country, and across the globe.

We include local nature camps as well as  international cultural exchanges to ensure students will be challenged to think differently, work collaboratively, and engage with new perspectives. It’s about building the skills that matter—curiosity, critical thinking, and a global mindset.

Here’s what’s coming up:

Grade 5 | Camp Norval
A one-night introduction to outdoor learning, team challenges, and leadership foundations.

Grade 6 | Camp Wanakita
A beloved 2-night tradition that blends nature, confidence-building, and community.

Grade 7 | Montreal
A bilingual and historical experience where students walk through centuries of culture, architecture, and identity.

Grade 8 | Halifax
Students explore Canada’s maritime story and its environmental future.

Grade 9 | Camp Pinecrest
An early high school rite of passage—focused on independence, communication, and group leadership.

Grades 9–12 | Cuba Music Trip
Our senior music students take their talent on tour, connecting performance with cultural exchange.

Grades 9–12 | Costa Rica Global Experience
A transformative journey into biodiversity, conservation, and sustainable development—science brought to life in one of the world’s most ecologically rich regions.

Each destination is carefully aligned with grade-level outcomes and designed to support meaningful, lasting learning. Whether a student is discovering Canadian history firsthand or participating in environmental fieldwork in Central America, they’re gaining insight that can’t be replicated in a textbook.

These are the kinds of experiences that stay with them long after they’ve returned. They shape not only how students learn, but how they see themselves in the world.

We’re excited to launch this year’s program—and even more excited for our students to experience extraordinary.

Planning begins now, and spaces are limited.
