World Gratitude Day: Embracing Our School Theme

Today is World Gratitude Day, and it is no coincidence that our school theme for this year is “Gratitude.” Following last year’s focus on “Joy,” we’re embracing the power of appreciation and its profound impact on our well-being and on our entire community.

Here are a few fun facts! We all have read or heard about the benefits of practicing Gratitude, but did you know that Gratitude has real, tangible impacts on you and your brain including:

  • Boosting the immune system
  • Reducing stress, anxiety, and depression
  • Strengthening our relationships
  • Improving our sleep
  • Improving our self-esteem
  • Promoting long-lasting happiness

In an ever changing fast-paced world, practicing gratitude could not be more important.

This year, our school theme of Gratitude will be really prominent and will weave through everything we do including incorporating gratitude practices into our daily routines, from classroom activities to school-wide initiatives.

We encourage you, parents and guardians, to chat with your child about the benefits of practicing gratitude and why it is so important to practice daily. We look forward to sharing the commonality of this core value as we effuse it into our teaching, learning, and everything we do.
